information technology careers?

I’m gonna start college in the upcoming semester to pursue my new career in information technology. But it’s gonna be a only 2 year degree (associates degree). I’d like to ask something. Can you Build Your own IT company or business? If You Can, what kind of product or service can I offer the customers if I were to start my own IT business? I do hear that IT majors start their own business but what kind of business do they build? Thanks

Most IT people learn stuff on the job then become independent consultants. Any kind of programming is good. Forget network admin, though, lots of those who work for next to nothing and its stressful. If you are good at Search Engine Optimization, that’s money in the bank.
