Is it cheaper to build your customized desktop? How hard to build one?

Please help me with information source on how to build one. I have little knowledge how to do it. Is it more economical to build your own. Manufacturers buy in volumn so I know that they have good price on parts and stuff. Please advice me what to do or give me source to build one. Thank you

Customized desktop is the best way to spend ur money. U can search for the best deals of each component and do minor upgrades later on when u have extra cash.

U need to create a checklist on what u need. The basic parts are: motherboard, processor, RAM, graphic card, hard disks, power supply, optical drive, casing, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Other devices may be added as needed.

The most important thing is to choose your computer platform (Intel or AMD). Once u choose a platform, u can’t switch to the other unless u buy a new one. AMD platforms are generally much cheaper than Intel’s. Starting from this point, you need to choose your motherboard cause everything else should be chosen based on your it (processor socket type, memory type, graphic card type, drives type, etc)
